“Is real life this busy?”
The past six hours of my life has been filled with cooking failure pesto and talking about photographs on a different blog for a class, and I can do nothing now but imagine everything as a photograph, even the food that I try to eat but instead attempt to analyze as an image. So, in that fashion, this week is going to be more photography that I had to do for a class, like the other week. Why am I doing more photos and not writing more nonsense instead? Three reasons; I ran out of time this week to prepare something lengthier, I kind of like these photos I took and want to share them, and my mom liked the first one of these that I did. Guess which one swayed my decision the most.
Anyway, these pictures are kind of cool as stock photos, I guess, and since I always rag on people for making some of the shittiest stock images imaginable, the least I can do is try my hand at making some of my own. And, to a certain extent, it’s kind of exactly as easy as it looks. But, then again, I’m not a very good photographer, so this is kind of the best I can do.
Photography is weird to me, mainly because I know something looks cool when I see it, but more often than not I couldn’t tell you why it’s cool. I can tell you exactly why I like a piece of writing, or what kind of game mechanics work well in video games, but for the life of me I don’t understand photo composition. Or music composition, but that’s a whole other story. At any rate, my OCD forces me to take thousands of pictures on my phone, so I would have thought I’d be good at it my now. I’m actually just mediocre. But hey, it’s still pretty fun.
If you want to see where I wrote thousands of words about photography (and every single one of them sounds like total gibberish), click here. It’s a link to the blog that I’m keeping for the class that spurred me to take so many photos, and it’s hosted by my university. Will that site still be up in five years? Ten years? Probably not. I very much doubt it. But hey, that’s kind of what this post is for, to keep my photos alive somewhere where I have complete control over what goes up and when. Well, mostly.
Anyway, I should stop rambling because I still need to read a Shakespeare play about cross-dressing, which is a theme that comes up a whole fucking lot in his plays. Probably because there were no female actors allowed back then, and every female part in a Shakespeare show was played by a young boy who hadn’t hit puberty yet. But that has nothing to do with photography. The following, however, do. Enjoy.
I love the pics again! And that should be the main reason you did it again. But I know it is the time thing. 😉
If you and dad switch to sprint too & you get the iPhone 11, it makes even me seem like a not bad photographer!! 😍
